Livermore Falls, ME
Welcome To Livermore Falls
Located on the edge of Maine's western mountains, Livermore Falls is located in the gateway to several ski areas and outdoor recreation sites. The town is located in a valley formed by the Androscoggin River and the area is home to some of the country’s best white granite – used in buildings throughout the states and national monuments such as Grant’s Tomb, North America’s largest mausoleum. Livermore is home to the Washburn Norlands Living History Center, a 455-acre complex that includes a restored Victorian mansion, large barn, farmer’s cottage, church, granite library and a one-room schoolhouse. Here you can see rural, late 19th-century, living history experiences such as becoming a scholar in the schoolhouse and taking part in the daily chores of the 1870s. Programs range from tours to daylong and overnight live-in programs.
